Running behind
I’m about a week out from where I should be. There were issues with the change journal and DAG which I still needed to address and I’m sure there are more issues that I haven’t yet uncovered. A fair bit of time was sunk trying to get fancy with making outlines for selected objects that scaled correctly and didn’t pay off. Right now the main focus is getting the content loaded in order from the disc, driven by dependency information.
It’s going well, but I’m not sure if I can make up for the lost time. The sound interface is still a mess and needs a lot of work. I’m attempting to fix it up as and when I can. If all goes well this week, I should be looking out of place by a few days. The lightmapper task is something that I’d prefer to start on sooner rather than later.
I also just fixed an issue that I completely forgot about, which is the packed data files being read in full instead of just the header information to drive the rest of the file loading later.
Back to it.
